Crushed stone 0 to 3⁄4 is used for the foundation of your projects that need compaction. The required thickness depends on the type of project and the type of soil. For loamy soil, a thickness of 16 inches is recommended for a deck/patio, while for sandy soil, a thickness of 12 inches is recommended. 0-¾ crushed stone is a mixture of stone dust and ¾ inch stone which in diameter can vary between 0 and ¾ (10-20mm). Water penetrates little through its compaction unlike 3⁄4 net crushed stone.
The 0¾ is the layer of rock that is just under the stone dust when you make a granular foundation or paver sidewalk.
