Compost
Mushroom compost can be used in the garden, vegetable patch, lawn, and even flower beds. It stands out for the aeration it provides to the soil, improving the roots' ability to absorb nutrients and oxygen. It enriches all types of soil and improves the structure of sandy or clay soils.
It is composed of a mixture of forestry materials and agri-food sludge. It retains up to 70% of its own weight in water; thanks to this percentage, it stays moist longer, which means less water is used.
Mushroom compost must be mixed with soil and should not be used alone for growing plants. If you are amending your soil with pure mushroom compost, you should mix it in a ratio of one part compost to two parts soil.
For best results when gardening with mushroom compost, mix it thoroughly with the garden soil before planting or leave it to rest over winter and apply it in spring.
